Meet your hosts

They first met as grad school students in Albany, New York, and on their second date set off on an autumn drive through southern Vermont. The day included Bromley's Alpine Slide, the Peru Fair, winding stretches of Route 100, a stop at the Vermont Country Store, and dinner in Manchester. What began as a simple day trip became the beginning of a lifelong connection to this corner of New England.

Over the years, they've returned again and again—through every season, with their family and friends, discovering new restaurants, favorite trails, quiet moments, and traditions that never grow old. Their travels have also taken them around the world, giving them the opportunity to experience everything from camping under the stars to exceptional hotels and thoughtfully designed vacation homes. Along the way, they noticed and appreciated the small details that make guests feel genuinely welcome.

Brookside Retreat is the result of their life and travel experiences. Kevin and Maryellen's appreciation for Vermont's farms, local businesses, and hidden gems combined with their natural eye for organization and thoughtful hospitality, shapes an experience that is comfortable, inviting, and effortless.
